Prevy Studio is a business name of 1001206169 Ontario Corp. (“Prevy Studio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it by complying with this policy. Prevy Studio provides a web-based tool for creating App Store preview videos, including a browser editor in which you can import recordings and produce, preview, and export preview videos (the “Service”). The Service is available to users worldwide.

This policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the personal information of our users and visitors (“you”), the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit prevystudio.com (the “Website”) or use the Service, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

We will only use your personal information in accordance with this policy unless otherwise required by applicable law. We take steps to ensure that the personal information that we collect about you is adequate, relevant, not excessive, and used for limited purposes.

Because our users are located around the world, this policy is designed to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws. Privacy laws generally define personal information, or personal data, as information about an identifiable individual. The Website and Service may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins, services, or applications that we do not control. 2. Information We Collect About You

We collect and use several types of information from and about you, including personal information that we can reasonably use to directly or indirectly identify you, and non-personal information that does not directly or indirectly identify you.

Information you provide to us

  • Account information. When you register for the Service, we collect your name, email address, and password (which we store in hashed form), and any profile details you choose to provide.
  • Subscription and billing information. When you purchase a Pro subscription, our third-party payment processor collects and processes your payment details. We receive billing information such as your name, billing email, the plan you purchased, transaction amounts, and any promotional code you use, but we do not collect or store your full payment card number.
  • Content you upload.To create previews, you import screen recordings, video footage, screenshots, images, and similar materials, and you create projects, into the editor (your “Content”). We process and store your Content to provide the Service to you. You retain all rights in your Content, and we do not claim ownership of it or use it for any purpose other than providing and improving the Service to you, as described in this policy. Your Content may incidentally contain personal information, which we handle in accordance with this policy.
  • Correspondence. Records and copies of your correspondence if you contact us for support or otherwise.
  • Optional information. Your responses to surveys or feedback requests, where you choose to provide them.

Information we collect automatically

As you navigate through and interact with the Website and the Service, we may use cookies and other automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including details of your visits, such as traffic and usage data and the resources you access, and information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

The information we collect automatically is statistical information that may include personal information, and we may maintain it or associate it with personal information we collect in other ways. It helps us to improve the Website and the Service, to deliver a better and more personalized experience, and to recognize you when you return.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (provided through Firebase) to understand how visitors find and use the Website and Service, such as which pages are viewed and how features are used, so that we can measure and improve them. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data, including your IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you visit. Where you are signed in, we may associate these events with your account so we can analyze usage at the account level. Google processes this information on our behalf as described in its own privacy and data practices. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file placed on your device. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser; however, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of the Website or Service. We use cookies that are necessary to operate the Service and keep you signed in, and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics (provided through Firebase) to measure and improve the Website and Service. 3. How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

  • to present the Website and Service and their contents to you;
  • to create and administer your account and to provide you with notices about your account or subscription, including expiration and renewal notices;
  • to process your Content so that you can edit, preview, and export your App Store preview videos;
  • to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website and the Service;
  • to process payments and to carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts with you, including for billing and collection;
  • to respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
  • to send you marketing or promotional communications where you have consented, which you can withdraw at any time;
  • to comply with our legal obligations and to protect our rights, property, and safety and those of others; and
  • for any other purpose with your consent.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EU and UK Users)

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data: your consent; the performance of our contract with you to provide the Service; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service and our business, provided these are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with our legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

5. How We Disclose Your Information

We may disclose aggregated and de-identified information that does not identify any individual without restriction. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information that we collect or that you provide:

  • To service providers. To third parties who perform functions on our behalf and process personal information on our instructions, such as cloud hosting and storage, payment processing, and email and communications. Our current service providers include Vercel (hosting and storage), Stripe (payment processing), Google (authentication, storage, and analytics through Firebase and Google Analytics), and the providers we use to send account and service emails.
  • In accordance with applicable law, to a buyer or successor in the event of a merger, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, in which personal information is among the assets transferred;
  • to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a lawful request, and to enforce our terms and protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others; and
  • for any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information, or with your consent.

6. Storage and International Transfers

We and our service providers may store and process your information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where we or they operate. Where personal information is processed outside your jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, and other authorities. Where the GDPR applies, transfers of personal data outside the EU or UK are made on the basis of an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses. We take reasonable steps to ensure that our service providers protect personal information consistent with this policy.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information and your Content for as long as your account is active and as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. We retain your Content and projects while your account is active, and we delete them within a reasonable period after you delete them or close your account, except where we are required to retain information to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements. You may delete your projects and Content, and request closure of your account, at any time.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information and your Content against accidental or unlawful loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. The safety and security of your information also depends on you: you are responsible for keeping your account password confidential. No method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may access and review the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or update it, and withdraw your consent to our use of it. You can access and update much of your account information by logging into the Service.

EU and UK users. If the GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to request access to, rectification, or erasure of your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California users. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Marketing Communications

Where you have consented or as otherwise permitted by law, we may send you commercial electronic messages about the Service, new features, and promotions. You can withdraw your consent and opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. We send commercial electronic messages in accordance with applicable anti-spam laws, including Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Website and Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites and services that we do not control, including the platforms to which you publish your preview videos. This policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Service is available to users worldwide but is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in their jurisdiction, or, where the GDPR applies, under the age of 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last modified” date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, and any changes take effect when the revised policy is posted on the Website.
